James, educated in engineering at Cambridge is an inventor, entrepreneur and is a co-founder and CEO of Caldera Heat Batteries . His professional journey spans over 15 years in energy research and development, coupled with over 25 years of business experience. As an inventor, he has made significant steps in thermal energy storage, and he now holds more than 20 patent families. In business away from engineering, James took a failing company and built it into Cambridge’s largest tourist business.
James’ role at Caldera is underpinned by a deep understanding of commercial requirements for new technologies, especially in the UK energy sector. Previously, James served as the CEO of Isentropic for 10 years, where he led a team of 21 engineers working on grid-scale energy storage.
